Unfortunately, neither file worked. Both files downloaded properly. The smaller of the two has a small animation pop up and spin for a while, but the the other on just asked to install and then didn't do anything after clicking ok. ?? Am I missing a step someplace?

Normally that driver don't show anything but what you saw.

However, if you are not connected, then obviously it didn't work.

Now that I know what wireless card you have, then try the driver from the Dell support site for your model.
